End of the Year Zaffarancho 2017.12.04. Rádpuszta

 On the 4th of December 2017, Zaffarancho, the consolidated closing of the Budapest and Balaton tables, would have started at 4 pm, but everyone arrived only for 17 hours. The Balaton table, together with corsars and aspirants, was attended by 16 people and the Budapest table by 10 people. Together with Corsars, 26 of the Brothers and 28 of our invited guests took part in Zaffarancho. (Full roster in the logbook.)

After nearly an hour of slipping, we shortened our Captain's opening ceremony, and the program and annual activity briefings to listen to our guest, Attila Horváth's rich report.

We were not disappointed because the adventures we had come to know were very close to the spirit of the Brotherhood of the Coast. The impressive performance illustrated by the many photographs of the many adventures of the ship's construction, watering, and sailing around the globe was impressive. In fact, we almost listened to the almost 1.5-hour lecture without silence. This power of will and determination has won the recognition of all participants. We would like to thank Attila Horváth.

After the performance we took part in a wine tasting, even under the influence of the performance. So I can't list the tasted wines with full authenticity, I only remember the "Kokashegyi Couve" and the "Radish Rosé". The company tasted the selection alongside the silent conversation and unanimously established the excellent quality of the 2017 wines.

Remembering our siblings sailing after the wine tasting, our National Captain gave a one-minute silent tribute.

Then the dinner began with the usual oven baked fries, purple cabbage onion and ginger dessert. Now the doses have exceeded our performance, everybody is up to a snack. Meanwhile, of course, we talked about, we were thinking about next year's programs and we felt good.

After dinner, we shared the "warfare", the festive gift of the Balaton table. Our National Captain was led by Golpe de Canon, for which the gun was supplied by our brother Hvallross. Finally, after 21 hours, we greeted each other with festive wishes, and we closed the Zaffarancho.

The event was successful, without any problems, to the satisfaction of all participants. We managed to meet every point on the agenda, to revive the pleasant and interesting moments of the past year and to have a pleasant feeling of winter rest.

It was a problem for me to keep the arrival time normally. We should change this attitude in the future, especially if our guests invited to the announced date arrive, only we couldn't start because of late arrivals. Only the XVIII. Lajos's famous saying can be quoted and thought about: "L` exactitude est la politesse des rois." (Precision is the courtesy of kings!)
