The participants started to gather in the harbour of Boglar in sunny but very windy weather. At ¾ 10 we walked over to the public marina for embarkation and the Phoenix motored off at ½ 11 towards Mount Philippi. The reason for the motorcycle ride was the strong north-northeast wind and the fact that participants were wearing the required formal attire.
After we reached the cover of Mount Philip, we began the initiation ceremony of our brothers Stormbird and Edi at 11 am. Under the guidance of our brother Tudor, the traditional initiation took place, including the dry line firing with black powder. Brother Stormbird became a brother of the Budapest Table. Captain Abrand handed over his flag, one of whose stars is golden because our Brother Stormbird sailed across the Atlantic. Our brother Edi became the brother of the Balaton Table. Captain Phoenix informed the audience about his masterly work in shipbuilding, repair and harbour and then handed over the flags.
After the gunpowder ran out, we set sail and sailed back to the harbour. At 13h00, the brothers, sisters and guests occupied the Rose Garden Restaurant. After throwing up the swords and taking our table, our National Captain greeted those present and then Golpe de Canon led us in a Zacapa Centenario 23 black powder. The powder was excellent, no smoke, no dampness, every shot delivered the expected result... We then enjoyed an excellent buffet meal, which lived up to our expectations, and the guests were well fed. At 4 p.m., we broke the table with a final Golpe de Canon, with the good feeling that we had once again succeeded in making the brotherhood idea work.
Yes, the Hungarian Party Brotherhood is alive and well!
